Fable II Guide: The Colosseum

A lot of people have asked me how to beat the Colloseum that came with the new See the Future DLC for Fable 2. Because it isn't timed in the way the Crucible is, you can't go for best time. So instead of putting out a guide like I did for the Crucible, I'll just give you all a few tips that'll let you breeze through, specifically, getting all the achievements.

First you want to get the chicken suit out - blow off the dust before wearing - and kick all the chickens as they come. Keep fighting when there aren't any chickens, but as soon as one comes up, give it the boot. First achievement: done.

Next you're going for the necromancer and the multipliers - you'll get both by this method - as well as the points - ultimate prize here we come! Simply use a combination of level 4 time control and level five inferno. Make sure to set every level besides five as time control too. It helps. Hit the multipliers as soon as they appear. If you find yourself in a tight situation and run out of time control, use level one and immediately charge a level 2. A level two time control will let you get off a level four, which will last you for a level five inferno and then just barely let you charge up to another level four. If you get in a tight situation where the enemies can attack you even in slo-mo you can use a level three time control to get off an inferno, but then you will need to do a level one, then two, then four to get back into rhythym. Aside from spells I suggest a fast ranged weapon (the Red Dragon simply works the best - use that) and a health restoring melee weapon - my master katana with four augments working best for me, the four augments getting me power and health and the katana being the best crowd control melee weapon.

That should get you three achievements. If you somehow don't get the points, try playing through, getting the multipliers (though not the chickens) without time controls (excluding aimed time controls).

The last thing you will need to do in the Colosseum is get the three teddy bears. Shoot the gargoyles (you'll hit the right one eventually) for the first teddy, and light the two candlesticks opposite the entrance with aimed inferno (once you finished a go of fighting) for the second. You will see the third on a pedestal after you get the exact score of 1985 (or variants I've heard, but I wouldn't trust rumors).

To do this fight through all the rounds until you get to the bandits (right after the balverines show up), not getting any multipliers or kicking any chickens (that means try not to do any flourishes or chain attacks either). Once you kill everything other than the bandits, you should have a score which is a multiple of five, for example, 1605 or 1760 - not something like 1857 or 1456. If you do, save and continue. If not, try to keep going, but don't bother saving. Basically the easiest way (don't pay attention to those fancy online guides saying the different point values of bandits) is to experiment with which combination of bandits from that point will get you 1985. Note the different looks and the points they get you, also if you use flourishes or chain attacks (which I still suggest against), for next time if you don't get it right right away. If you fail, start from your last save and try again. That should get you a dye and the last part of your fourth Colosseum achievement.
